2018 marked 100 years of the existence of our Parish. Expressing gratitude to God and remembering our Slovak heritage, a traditional wooden carved commemoration cross was designed and built on the parish grounds. We desire that it will remain a constant testimony to our roots and a place for drawing spiritual strength for all people.
A Solemn Benediction of the Commemoration Cross will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2020. The event will begin at 10:00AM with an outdoor Holy Mass celebrated by Most Rev. Robert J. Fisher, Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit, followed by the Solemn Benediction of the Commemoration Cross. (The 9:30AM & 11:30AM (Slovak) Holy Masses will be combined on this day.) Please remember to bring a folding chair.
Also, feel free to bring individually-wrapped cookies/brownies to the church before 9:00AM on September 13. There will be a small Social after this special event.
