Music is such an immense part of the Christmas Season … both within our homes and as a parish family! Sadly, due to the pandemic, concerts all over the world have been cancelled, and choirs & musicians have not been able to meet or sing together, including the choirs & musicians of our Parish.

Don’t despair! This year, we can safely “unite” as a parish to celebrate our Lord’s Birth with a Virtual Christmas Concert that will air on the Parish You Tube Channel on January 3rd, 2021, the Solemnity of the Epiphany!  

EVERYONE is encouraged to participate by singing, playing an instrument, or even reciting a Christmas Poem or Prayer!

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO RECORD YOUR PIECE!

1. Record your piece at St. Cyrils:

• Sign up for a personal 15-minute time slot to record at St. Cyril’s on Saturday, December 26, from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  Piano or organ accompanists will both be available. Please notify Director of Music, Joe Long, jlong@saintcyrils.church if you would like to reserve a spot on December 26!

2. Record from the comfort of your own home:

• Record your performance (up to five minutes) using an MP4 format recording and submit it via flash drive or through email no later than Monday, December 21. (These should be recorded in a quiet space and please make sure the audio is clear. Remember to wear your “Christmas Best” and have your  holiday decorations in the background to make it more festive!)

AS YOU PREPARE YOUR PIECE TO PERFORM, PLEASE KEEP IN MIND …

• Songs or recitations must be under five minutes long.
• Songs can be instrumental or vocal, and can be sacred or secular (but must be appropriate). 
• Recitations can be prayers or poems. Poems can also be Sacred or Secular (again, must appropriate).
• Dress appropriately, as this concert will be posted on our parish website. 
• If you would like to record at Church, and will need music accompaniment, make sure the sheet music is provided a week in advance.
