Dear Ladies of the Parish: Can you please take just a few minutes of your time to fill out a brief survey for the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Rosary Society, the longest-established Parish organization?
Almost 100 years ago, the Ss. Cyril & Methodius, the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Rosary Society was founded by the Slovak parishioners of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church in Detroit (founded in 1918). The organization was dedicated to the patronage of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and its purpose was to promote daily devotion to our Blessed Mother and to provide fundraising activities to advance the needs of the parish. To this day, the Rosary Society continues to fulfill this long-established commitment.
Our purpose is to:
- Promote daily devotion to our Blessed Mother and the Holy Rosary – through Marian Retreats and prayer support with our Rosary Society sisters
- Provide fundraising activities for the needs of the Parish – through Bake Sales, Christmas Cookie Walk, Cookbook sales and past events such as the Salad Luncheon and Rummage Sales
- Encourage leadership and participation in all Spiritual and Social events of the Parish – though facilitating First Saturday devotions and hosting various parish receptions such as the May Crowning Reception and Corpus Christi Reception
- Work together in harmony with other Parish organizations – through our support of our priests and support during the annual Parish Slovak Festival, Lenten Fish Frys and organization of various events for the priests and deacons
We are hopeful to continue our Society for at least another 100 years and we are reaching out to you for help. Would you kindly take a few minutes to fill out the below survey so that we can determine the needs of our parishioners today? Thank you for your time.
We are also hopeful that you will consider joining us at our next Rosary Society meeting to learn more about who we are and what we do. We meet on the First Saturday of each month after the 9:00AM Holy Mass and Rosary (at approximately 10:15AM). Our next meeting is on First Saturday, May 6.
