Both Jews and Gentiles in Pisidia were interested in what Paul and Barnabas had to say. But their freedom when talking about the Law of Moses and their success with the pagans caused the Jewish leaders to suspect Paul. Religious establishment defending human traditions tries to control Paul who is driven by the Spirit of God. How ironic!

Jesus experienced the same before and the Jews used to comment on him as well: if we leave him alone, all will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our lands and our nation. (John 11:48)

What should be the driving force of our life: keeping and upholding human traditions, or rather be open for the Word from God?

And further: who is the right person to listen to? Someone with pleasing words who makes one just feel good, or someone who challenges?
